Guar Gum contains no hazardous ingredients and is not considered a hazardous material under OSHO (occupational safety, health administration)

Carcinogenicity : Not established as a carcinogen

8) HAZARD IDENTIFICATION:
Guar Gum is not classified as a dangerous substance within the definition of the EC directive. However the excessive inhalation of dust may develop a respiratory allergenic response.
The dry powder may cause irritation in the eyes of specific individual.

9) FIRST AID MEASURES:
Ingestion/Inhalation            : Drink and flush out with plenty of water. Consult physician if blockage severe. Eye contact  : Clean dry and wash with water

Flammable limit               : UEL €  Not available & LEL =0.04 oz/cf
Auto Ignition Temperature: above 200 F
Dust explosibility data: General Hazards               : High concentration of dust in air may form explosive mixture.
Fire fighting media/ instructions CO2, dry chemical, foam, water fog. Wear self-contained breathing apparatus to avoid smoke. Slippery when wet.

11) DATA ON REACTIVITY:
Stability                                         : stable when stored in cool, dry place and away from sunlight.
To avoid                                        : ignition sources, water contact and dusting
Incompatibility                              : strong oxidizers.
Hazardous decomposition  : Then decomposition results in carbon dioxide & carbon.
Hazardous polymerisation  : No hazardous polymerisation occurs.

12) INFORMATION ON TOXICITY:
No test data found on Acute Eye irritation, Dermal irritation, Skin irritation & Respiratory irritation.
Acute oral toxicity:
LD 50              6770 mg/kg (rat)
LD 50              8100 mg/kg (mouse)
Chronic toxicity : The product does not contain any substances which are carcinogenic as confirmed by OSHO (occupational safety, health administration) and IARC (International Agency for Research on Cancer)

13) RECOMMENDED STORAGE CONDITIONS:
Dry, not humid. Out of the sun, preferably in a cool, shaded and well ventilated area. Once package is opened, consume within reasonable time. Store opened and unused packages after adequate re -sealing to avoid contamination and moisture ingress.

14) PERSONNEL SAFETY:
Non-toxic, but avoid inhalation, ingestion. Wear suitable protective gear. If “slimy” feel in mouth due to inhalation/ingestion, drink plenty of water.

15) SPILLAGE REMOVAL (DRY):
Vacuum off. Avoid sweeping, as could lead to excessive dusting. Ensure increased ventilation, if dusting should occur.

16) SPILLAGE REMOVAL (WET):
Use sawdust or other absorbent. CAUTION! Wet spillage is extremely slippery. Remove and dispose only after relatively dry. Spray with suitable disinfectant, wet spillage could lead to microbial growth, if left to stand for long periods.
